Singer/songwriter Ryan Oyer was raised on the sounds of the 60's British Invasion and 90's Britpop. This prolific writer has released 7 albums and 4 EP's in just over a decade. Imagine Alan Watts and Ram Dass writing a book on the wisdom of kids, middle age, and falling in love after 30. Now imagine them doing it with an open-tuned electric guitar, and you should have a good idea of the driving forces behind the new album, “You Are Here.”

“Life is like music for its own sake. We are living in an eternal now, and when we listen to music we are not listening to the past, we are not listening to the future, we are listening to an expanded present.”
- Alan Watts
Imagine Alan Watts and Ram Dass writing a book on the wisdom of kids, middle age, and falling in love after 30. Now imagine them doing it with an open-tuned electric guitar, and you should have a good idea of the driving forces behind Ryan Oyer’s new album, “You Are Here.”
As before, Ryan wears his Britpop influences on his paisley jacket, and the shades of Definitely Maybe, the White Album and Pink Moon are in abundance. But, Ryan’s songwriting voice is confident and singular. This is the record Ryan has always wanted to make, and probably the one he was meant to make. Producer, musician, and Philosopher Robert Force said “A musician's job, is to show up and say, ‘This is where I am right now’” with “You Are Here” Ryan shows us where he is, & by extension, where you are too.
We are, where we are, when we are, because we are. - Butch Ross
